ATLANTA– (Oct. 4, 2021) – The Top 200 CPA and advisory firm Windham Brannon has named Brandi M. Samuel to principal effective Oct. 1. She is the first Black principal at the Atlanta-based firm.

“Brandi has been serving clients around the globe with superior international expertise. We’re incredibly fortunate to have her knowledge and specialized skill set,” said Heidi LaMarca, CEO and managing partner. “Her leadership has contributed significantly to the firm’s success, and we’re excited to formally recognize her contributions and look forward to her continued success and contributions.”

As the international tax practice co-leader, Samuel specializes in international taxation, tax implications of mergers and acquisitions, general tax compliance, not-for-profit tax compliance and individual taxation. She and her Windham Brannon tax team serve clients in more than 75 countries.

Samuel’s firm contributions do not stop with her client service. She has been instrumental in building and leading the firm’s initiatives around diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and has also developed and coordinated training for new managers each year. She has dedicated countless hours to helping the firm address policies, practices and business objectives to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment.

She joined the firm as a senior tax associate in 2014 after nearly five years at a Big Four firm. She earned a master’s in taxation from Georgia State University and her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Dillard University in New Orleans.

Samuel previously served on the Georgia Society of CPAs Task Force and has shared her expertise at the Southeastern Accounting Showcase, AGN EMEA Conference, and Global Atlanta’s Expat Expectations event as a speaker. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Georgia and holds memberships in the AICPA, Georgia Society of CPAs, the National Association of Black Accountants and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

She is proud to join the more than 50-percent female leadership at Windham Brannon. In addition to her corporate responsibilities, she’s the wife of Randolph, a mother to Ethan and Jacob and a community champion. She’s served on her church’s board as a member of the finance ministry for the past ten years.  Samuel also devotes her time promoting financial literacy for Atlanta’s youth as a board member for Nourishing Hands, Inc., a not-for-profit organization.

An Atlanta native, who grew up in a West African/American home, Samuel contributes much of her success and international involvement to her cultural upbringing, rich family history and diverse community.
