Experience

Herb joined Windham Brannon in 2001 as a manager of estate, gift, and trust work, and currently serves as a Director in the firm’s tax department. He specializes in estate and trust tax compliance, gift strategies, and estate planning and administration, as well as planning and compliance for individuals, family partnerships, and corporations. He has nearly twenty years of public accounting experience and fifteen years of banking experience.

Herb has extensively served the Georgia Society of CPAs: in the Society’s Estate and Financial Planning Committee for more than fifteen years, as Chairman for the Estate Planning Conference Committee for three years, and as Chairman of the Estate Planning section for two years. He also serves on the Board of the Estate Planning Council of North Georgia, and has used his expertise to assist as a committee member for the DeKalb Medical Center Foundation’s Planned Gifts Committee.

He earned a BBA and MBA with an emphasis in accounting and finance from the University of Georgia, and graduated with a Masters in Taxation from Georgia State University. While attending Georgia State, Herb helped the graduate team in the Arthur Andersen Tax Challenge win third place in the nation.

Herb and his wife, Donna, have twin daughters. When he has the time, he likes to hike, camp, study history, and attend sporting events.
