Brent Wilkinson leads Windham Brannon’s Tax Practice, where his leadership and oversights supports the firm’s mission to provide our clients the best service and experience possible. Brent has more than 30 years of experience in income tax planning and compliance, specializing in high-net-worth families and their closely held businesses. He has a background of serving clients with substantial real estate assets. His expertise includes developing sophisticated tax strategies for real estate investors, family offices and business owners, with a focus on partnerships, LLCs and S-corporations. Brent advises clients on tax-efficient entity structuring, wealth transfer strategies and complex like-kind exchange transactions to maximize post-tax returns.
He has extensive experience dealing with transactions involving the sale of a business or real estate and planning to minimize the associated income taxes. Brent also assists in guiding high-net-worth families through estate and gift tax planning transactions, integrating tax strategies with broader financial and succession planning goals.
Brent earned a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia in 1986, pursued postgraduate studies in Accounting at Georgia State University from 1986 to 1989, and later earned hi Juris Doctorate at Georgia State University College of Law in 1996. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA), and the Taxation Sections of the Atlanta Bar, and NAIOP (The Commercial Real Estate Development Association).
